So, i complete 2 years of blogging and it has been a wonderful journey so far. I have always loved to write and express my views. Be it school magazines, college editorials i always have contributed to my best potential. I had never thought of blogging as a career option but then they say that you never know what life has in store for you. 🙂
To celebrate my 2 years as a blogger, i did a very different post from what i usually do. It was no gorgeous or trendy outfit, minimal make up and no accessories kinda post. I just wanted to share my expressions and moments that i have lived through the last 2 years. I also wanted to spend that time with the one person who has constantly encouraged and urged me to write. My husband, he is the one person who has believed in my potential and has supported me immensely in my journey. He suggested that we do an outdoor shoot. So we went to this place towards Saswad and parked ourselves where we found a lovely spot.
The idea was for me to recount my journey and how much i have enjoyed being a blogger. So sharing my experiences in the last 2 years:-
As most of you would be aware, I have been very lucky. Without having any formal experience I got my first few assignments in social media. I am forever grateful for them for having that trust in me to give me work. I started off gratis as i was also learning on the job. Around that time I also started my blog. Initially, i thought it would be impossible to manage it all. Slowly, i started enjoying it so much that i forgot about tiny challenges and was able to handle as many as 3 clients at a time. It many not sound too much for a lot of people however, for someone like me who has OCD, am a doting mom, and I love to enjoy life it was very overwhelming. I was always pressed for time. I would go for a yoga class, however i would be on the phone constantly trying to schedule a post, or if we went on a weekend getaway, i would be on the phone trying to organise a contest for a client. Though, no complaints I enjoyed each minute of what I did and did it to my best potential.
I have had my trying moments as well. With some clients work just could not progress. We went back and forth with quotations, ideas etc still nothing materialised. Being in a creative field, it is very rarely that you can come to a 100% understanding and clarity. So this was also a learning for me.
As i blogger i have my moments where i wonder at times that what am I doing? I am not young as compared to a lot of popular bloggers nor do I have a perfect figure. Most days just go by without me even opening my laptop to write a post. I have a family which always takes precedence. Those are the days when inspiration is at its lowest and i draw a complete blank on what to write. However, i know that this too shall pass. Luckily, for me my blog write ups are an expression of my personal style and daily life so the minute my mood perks up, an idea starts brimming. 😉
My biggest high is when someone says that you are doing a fantastic job, we love to read your posts and the way you style yourself. That is the biggest reward for me. I know that am doing something right. That one remark from a reader that i loved you in that dress or i love it how you can carry off your bright orange lipper makes my day. It is these moments which keep me going and motivate me to do better.
To summarise, 2015 was all about learning and exploring. I worked with some really talented people, did some great work, learnt a lot and had an enriching experience. Now, I am ready to take on 2016. There is a lot to be done, the ideas haven’t stopped coming and god willing its going to be a good year. 🙂
